Jane Shilton 1980s Small Chocolate Brown Mock-Croc Faux Leather Hand Bag with Double Solid Brass Strap
Established in 1933, Jane Shilton bags was the creation of Alexander Shilton, a leather industry worker, whose acquired knowledge enabled him to set up his own bag label.
Having served in the military during WWII, Alexander’s faithful secretary Jane, continued to run the company with almost mechanical efficiency, and so upon his return, the two parties married and the company was renamed Jane Shilton.
The company still operates today, and routinely exports to countries including Russia, the Middle East, Singapore and Australia, while enjoying department store concessions with select British retailers such as Browns of York and Atkinsons of Sheffield.
This is a 1980s chocolate brown Jane Shilton ‘mock-croc’ faux leather hand bag with double solid brass straps. The bag has an internal zipped vanity pocket and one main compartment, along with a metal snap closure.
